The Boxing Rink™ is a multifaceted, elite training facility for everyone from the serious athlete looking to increase their game, to the mom looking to get in shape and reduce stress, to the kid looking to be the next Sugar Ray Leonard.

The Boxing Rink™ is housed in a 6,100 square foot facility, complete with a 20 foot boxing ring, two 27 foot shooting lanes for hockey training, twenty 110 pound hydro-heavy bags, a fully loaded free weight area, 2000 square feet of open mat for cardio conditioning, agility and boot camp training, and Deyoga Room for heated yoga.

The Boxing Rink™ believes in quality not quantity. Never will there be more than 20 people in a class. Never will you feel overwhelmed by equipment you don’t know how to use, or by blaring music you can’t hear the instructor over. We believe it’s more important to be able to focus on our clients form and function than it is to fill a room to capacity. We are NOT a membership gym (with the exception of the Open Boxing Program). All classes are pre-registered and programmed and anyone in The Boxing Rink™ is there to train with a trainer or take a scheduled class. What we do provide is a FUN, challenging workout – no matter what you sign up for!

Boxing Rink founders Mike Martelli and Barbara DeyoPartners in life and now partners in business, Michael Martelli and Barbara Deyo have combined their knowledge and expertise to open a one-of-a-kind, state of the art training facility, offering competitive boxing, cardio kick boxing, hockey cross training, MMA cardio conditioning, boot camp and agility training, kids boxing and conditioning, personal training, CFY certified Yoga, and more.

Mike Martelli started boxing at the age of 12 at local boxing gyms in South Eastern Michigan. He soon caught the attention of veteran trainers who took Mike under their wing and were grooming him to become a champion. A natural at the sport, he won the Silver Gloves State Championship at 14 years old. An invitation to try out for the 1984 Olympics soon followed. An unfortunate accident, resulting in a shattered wrist, suddenly ended this dream. Mike hung up the gloves and went on to finish his education, and pursued his engineering career. In recent years he was feeling unfulfilled and unsure what to do about it. Mike decided to quit his job, and go back to what he truly loves. Boxing. In less than 2 short years, his client base has exploded – finding a niche market in training hockey players how to defend themselves, as well as developing the Martelli Boxing competitive team. He is truly an example of “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” – Confucius.
